Prestwood Nature The Local Environment Group for the Prestwood Area

Activities for Children and Families

Prestwood Nature aims to help children to discover and enjoy the environment around them. We have members who are able to lead field work for groups of children from  schools, and other organisations such as scouts, guides, brownies and cubs who have an interest in their environment. Please contact for more information or to book a session.

We also regularly open our sites at Sheepwash Pond, Boug’s Meadow and the Pollinator Friendly Garden to give children an opportunity to get hands-on experience of things they can observe in their local environment. Children will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult to take part in these events. Check out PN website for details of coming events.

For information about wildlife experiences for families check out the BBOWT website www.bbowt.org.uk/discover-learn/family-watch or the Woodland Trust website www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/get-involved/children-and-families/.

Prestwood Nature  places great emphasis on the importance of encouraging younger people to understand and value their local environment. There are opportunities for teenagers to carry out volunteering. Young adults, especially those studying at college or recently graduated, often find opportunities to gain field experience useful to their future careers.
